Directors:

Kenneth Kiprono Cherongony, Director Corporate Affairs: Mr. Cherongony has worked at Winafrique Technologies Ltd since its inception in 2004. He has a wealth of experience working in various sectors. Before joining Winafrique, Mr. Cherongony served as an Appointed Member of the Board of Directors, Telkom Kenya Ltd from 1999 to 2004. He has also served on the board of Safaricom Ltd. Mr. Cherongony is exposed to all aspects of banking in both rural and urban settings. This exposure was attained from 1984 to 1999 when he worked with one of Kenya’s leading banks - Kenya Commercial Bank. He attended many banking courses locally and abroad sponsored by the bank. Ken holds a B.A in Business Administration from the Trinity Western University of Canada.

Anthony K. Ng’eno, Managing Director: Mr. Ng’eno has been involved in the formation and running of Winafrique Technologies Ltd. He has previously worked on the Asian Sky Project in London. Mr. Ngeno is a trained and authorized synergy installer. Mr. Ng’eno holds a B.Sc in Computing and IT from the Open University UK.

Michael G. Chavanga, Operations Director: Mr. Chavanga has been involved in the day to day running of Winafrique since its inception. Mr. Chavanga has previously held the position of Sales and Marketing Manager both at Proto Power Products Ltd (1996-1997) and Mesta Kenya Ltd (1997-2000), a land consultancy company. Mr. Chavanga is a trained and authorized installer. Mr. Chavanga holds a B.A. in Business Studies and Sociology from Kenyatta University and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Rural Sociology and Community Development at the University of Nairobi.

Management:

Sam Okwiri, Sales & Marketing Manager: Mr. Okwiri holds a B.A in Economics from Moi University, Eldoret. His professional sales experience spans over 10 years, out of which 4 are in the renewable energy industry. He has previously worked in the solar departments of Chloride Exide (K) Ltd and Davis & Shirtliff (K) Ltd. He carries with him more than adequate exposure in Sales and Project installations.

Collins Ajuok, Accounts & Administration Manager: Trained in Accounting and Management, Mr. Ajuok holds eight years experience, having previously worked for Epsilon Broadcast Engineering, SR Kenya Ltd and Anchor East Africa Ltd in different capacities. Currently pursuing further studies at the University of Nairobi, he brings wide ranging experience in his area of work.

David Maru, Logistics & Procurement Manager: Mr. Maru holds a Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding as well as a certificate in dangerous goods regulations. He has previously worked for Siginon Freight Ltd and Transpaper group of companies. He brings a wealth of experience spanning over 10 years.

Peter Maisiba, Projects Manager: Mr. Maisiba holds a BSC Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He has previously worked as an Assistant Systems Administrator at Today’s Online Ltd and a Network Engineering Manager at Pacesetters Communications Ltd.

Edward Maina, Chief Technical Officer: Mr. Maina holds a BSC in Physics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has 3 years experience in repair and maintenance of Power electronics systems up to component level. He has extensive experience in power inverter/Rectifier systems.

Kevin Angoro, Technical Manager: Mr. Angoro holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Kevin has accomplished a wide range of installations for the company, including in its Ugandan subsidiary. He is a registered member of the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya and has previously worked for the International Livestock Research Institute and Labtec Electronic Services.
