Background
Winafrique Technologies was formed in August 2001 with the objective of expanding the renewable energy market in East and Central Africa. Their main emphasis has been on wind energy. The company was subsequently incorporated in Kenya in 2002 as an integrated renewable energy resource company.

Winafrique is a renewable energy solutions provider. The company has emerged as a reliable designer, supplier and installer of hybrid remote alternative power solutions for remote telecommunications sub-stations. Currently as the only contractor to have successfully integrated renewable energy to power BTS Networks in Kenya, operating costs for clients have been cut by up to 70%. Winafrique has completed a total of 41 sites of which 21 are powered by wind and solar hybrids.
